Ancient Olympics

We recently took a team to take part in the Ancient Olympics Event held at the University of Bath. Competitors from many local schools, dressed in the spirit of the Ancient Olympics, took part in a range of track and field events. These included sprints wearing full Roman or Greek armour, Discus and Javelin throwing, and the racing of chariots made by the pupils.

The Olympic Torch procession then made its way past the Olympic arena and pupils enjoyed their excellent view of the torchbearer and the flame. The atmosphere was amazing – it was the experience of a lifetime, according to the pupils.
